By what are you known

The other day some friends and I were having a conversation about people and their horses. Many of us realized we “know” some people only because we recognize their horses. This could be through training or lesson programs, previous ownership, from show circuits, or as in my case – horse and barn caretaking jobs. Further we shared how we often know horses even more than we know our own neighbors.

This led me to think about how we – as Christians, are known and recognized. Matthew 7:20 says: “So then, you will know them by their fruits.” (NASB)

Do our neighbors, and other people recognize us by our character, our behavior, our words? Can people “know” the name of Christ by recognizing Him, in us?
