Reflections of the Son

There was a “strawberry” moon the other night. I didn’t see it, I forgot to look outside. The next morning, at dawn, I did see a glorious full moon. No sign of any strawberry color remained. (This photo was taken some months ago, but it is still the same moon.)

As I gazed at the moon, enraptured as I always am at the majesty of the “heavens”, I thought – the moon is only beautiful as it reflects the sun. Without the sun it would be covered in darkness.

This then led my train of thought on how our inner beauty is most evident when we are reflecting the Son. Without Him, we too are covered in darkness.

The next time you gaze at the moon, strawberry or otherwise, ponder upon what it means to reflect the Son. How does that appear to the people in your life?
